چکیده
The anisotropic mechanical properties of ultrasound freeze cast epoxy-ceramic composite materials were studied by measuring flexural strength and fracture resistance curves (R-curves) using both unnotched notched three-point beam bending experiments, respectively, cut in three different orientations relative to the directional freezing axis. Three frequencies 0.699, 1.39 2.097 MHz used order introduce length scales into microstructure, with 0 as control samples. For all cases, composites showed higher when crack plane across direction ice growth (denoted YX orientation). more evident for material produced without (0 MHz) where was approximately 160% orientation compared two orthogonal orientations. Most increase found occur within a extension, ?a, ?0.5 mm. Comparing at ?a = 0.5 mm highly samples that 86% tougher than When operation applied, amount anisotropy gradually decreased operating frequency increased. high attributed alignment ceramic particles along front creating barrier propagation. متن کاملNanoreinforced xylan–cellulose composite foams by freeze-casting†
Structured biofoams have been prepared from the readily available renewable biopolymer xylan by employing an icetemplating technique, where the pore morphology of the material can be controlled by the solidification conditions and the molecular structure of the polysaccharide. Furthermore, reinforcement of these biodegradable foams using cellulose nanocrystals shows potential for strongly impro...

متن کاملBiomaterials by freeze casting.
The functional requirements for synthetic tissue substitutes appear deceptively simple: they should provide a porous matrix with interconnecting porosity and surface properties that promote rapid tissue ingrowth; at the same time, they should possess sufficient stiffness, strength and toughness to prevent crushing under physiological loads until full integration and healing are reached. Despite...
متن کاملEvaluation of Heterogeneous Densification, Anisotropic Shrinkage and Rheological Behavior of Ceramic Materials during Liquid Phase Sintering by Numerical-Experimental Procedure
The effective shear and bulk viscosity, as well as dynamic viscosity, describe the rheological properties of the ceramic body during the liquid phase sintering process. The rheological parameters depend on the physical and thermo-mechanical characteristics of the material such as relative density, temperature, grain size, diffusion coefficient, and activation energy. Thermal behavior of the cer...
